If you want a Savannah to be happy, enrichment is not extra. It is part of ownership. Savannahs are intelligent and athletic. When their needs are met, they are incredible companions. When they are bored, they get creative.
Vertical space: tall, sturdy cat trees, wall shelves or climbing options, and window perches. Scratching: multiple scratchers in different areas, on sturdy posts that do not wobble. Interactive play: wand toys, chase games, and short sessions multiple times a day. Food enrichment: puzzle feeders, treat balls, and foraging games.
Not every Savannah needs a wheel, but many do beautifully with one, especially higher-drive cats. If you are gone long hours, a wheel can be a game changer.
It usually means the routine needs adjustment, not that something is wrong with the cat. Increase enrichment, add structure, and remove accidental rewards for unwanted behavior.
